for the mobile application "Gloss Keyboard"
Last updated: August 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") applies to the mobile application "Gloss Keyboard" ("Application"). The Application is a voice-dictation keyboard for iOS: you dictate speech, and the Application converts it into text and can clean up, format, or translate that text using AI-powered features. The Application follows a freemium model: basic functionality is free, while advanced features are available through auto-renewable subscriptions. By using the Application, you agree to the terms of this Policy.
Account data.
When you first launch the Application, an anonymous account with a random identifier is created automatically. We use it to keep track of your free usage quota and subscription status. No name, email address, or phone number is required to use the Application.
Voice recordings and dictation.
When you start a dictation or import an audio recording, the audio is sent over an encrypted connection to our servers, where it is converted into text (speech-to-text) and, if you use such features, cleaned up, formatted, or translated by AI models. For these steps we use third-party AI service providers acting on our behalf; they process your audio and text solely to provide these services to us.
Keyboard input.
The keyboard does not collect, log, or transmit the text you type. Typed text stays on your device. The keyboard extension itself has no network access; only audio that you explicitly record for dictation is sent to our servers through the main Application.
Usage and technical data.
We collect a limited set of usage events generated by the Application (for example, dictation completed, paywall shown, purchase completed or failed) together with basic technical information (device model, operating system version, application version, language). We use this data to operate the free quota, verify entitlements, detect and prevent abuse and fraud, diagnose problems, and improve the Application. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
Subscription data.
Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store; we never receive your full payment details. We store only the information needed to verify your access to paid features (for example, whether a subscription is active and until when).
When you enable the Gloss keyboard, iOS asks you to grant it "Allow Full Access". We request this permission because iOS requires it for the keyboard extension to exchange data with the main Application through a shared container: the keyboard hands your dictation session over to the main Application and receives the finished text back.
